This is the final buffed look on the back of one of the new S-12 harp guitars. It is virtually a mirror shine as you can see one of the overhead flourescent lights shining bright and clear on the back of the instrument.

This look is achieved after having the grain filled, and 3-4 coats of MEKP catalyzed Polyester top coat sprayed on, then levelled, polished to 1000 grit and buffed.  All in a days work and the end result is very impressive.  We have been able to reduce labor by using this type of finish as it does not require sanding or curing between subsequent top coats.  All coats are sprayed on consecutively then allowed to cure for 2-3 days after which the levelling/polishing process commneses.   This method is perfect for the assembly line of the S-12 harp guitars that are coming out of the Sandpoint location, as well as any other designs that may happen in the future.
